Research
Our research subjects concerning the European brambles are taxonomy, sytematics, evolution, chorology, nomenclature, ecology, phytosociology and syntaxonomy
Some important questions we are dealing with:
- Complete inventories of bramble in the areas studied
- Exploration of distribution areas and -patterns by grid mapping
- Taxonomical and nomenclatural revision of all named taxa
- Investigation and taxonomic validation of widely or regionally distributed species
- Phytosociological description and analysis of hedges, wood margins, clearings and other sites dominated by shrubs
- Research into facts which serve as a base for protection of endangered species and habitats
- We do not carry out research into bramble breeding or fruit processing
